Warehouse Relocation
Ryder Integrated Logistics was selected by a large electronics firm which had sold its warehouse and needed to source an alternative site complete with management and operations personnel.
A third party logistics provider, Ryder specialises in supply chain solutions. Management changes at Ryder resulted in the need for additional project support and Davies & Robson acted as an integral part of its team on this substantial project.
The Davies & Robson team reviewed existing stock and distribution data and, using a range of modelling techniques, assessed stock progress, speed of movement, number of pallets stored etc. Stock holdings were rationalised and a detailed model of requirements including: warehouse location and size, storage and handling equipment and type and number of people required was prepared.
Using this warehouse model and a watertight implementation plan, Davies & Robson project managed the subsequent preparation and change over of warehouse including sub-contracting and overseeing building work and racking installations and assisting in the transfer of undertakings on behalf of staff.
