Logistics Manager

Logistics Manager, to £40k Wisbech, Cambs.
A high calibre Logistics Manager is required for this key role with a leading provider of agricultural inputs to UK farmers. This business has grown significantly in recent years and there is a requirement to co-ordinate the management of a multi-site transport operation into a dedicated function. The successful candidate, working with local staff and managers, will have overall responsibility for ensuring that all transport operations deliver the high levels of customer service required whilst remaining cost efficient and compliant with relevant regulations.
You should be able to demonstrate a track record of experience and performance in the key areas of responsibility:
• Delivering high standards of customer service in distribution
• Health and Safety requirements and regulatory compliance (A familiarity with BASIS and ADR regulatory standards would be an advantage, though not a requirement)
You will also require first class management and communication skills to perform successfully in this position.
This is a new and, for an experienced logistics, transport or fleet manager, a rewarding role with a successful and long-established business.

Reports to: CEO
Job: To deliver first-rate customer management and service delivery of Point of Sale distribution services while successfully promoting the full range of client services and developing the business case to do so.
Responsibilities:
• Customer satisfaction and retention delivered through agreements and their management that deliver commercial benefit.
• Promoting and developing a business case for the use of additional services including design and procurement of point of sale material.
Critical skills:
• A detailed understanding of warehousing and distribution, probably obtained through managing logistics operations, contracts or bids.
• The ability to develop and present coherent multi-faceted customer propositions for high value contracts with a sound understanding of their operational and commercial implications. The ability to produce client proposals through the management of internal teams and sound project management.
• The commercial acumen and negotiating skills necessary to complete and renew client business across a range of services.
• An ability to form and develop successful relationships with the senior management of clients, and prospective clients.
• Able to determine the real customer requirement and strike the balance between required service level and cost/margin.
• The ability to demonstrate, to the client, the performance of a contract through comprehensive and relevant reporting.
• Results orientated and focussed on delivering customer service and long-term client benefit.
• Technologically proficient
Qualifications: Graduate level preferred
