Rettig UK is Europe’s leading marketing and manufacturing group focused on radiators and under floor heating, as well as valves and controls for heating systems.
The distribution operation is centered on the Rettig Distribution Centre located at Birtley near Gateshead. Inter-site transport and deliveries to customers are outsourced to a single logistics contractor under a long-term contract. Distribution is demanding due to the wide range of sizes of product.
Rettig invited our logistics consultancy to tender its transport arrangements to ensure the operation represented both ‘best in class’ and value for money. We then carried out a detailed review of the contractual terms in order to produce a revised contractual agreement, designed to be demanding but fair to both parties.
