Is your team up to the challenges ahead?

Most businesses have faced severe supply chain challenges over recent years. The name of the game has been to remove waste and cost from the supply chain while ensuring service levels satisfy market needs.

We are now moving into an era where we need to be able to respond to market opportunities as they arise. To take proper advantage of these opportunities, our management teams must be sharper than ever. Having recognised this, Davies & Robson has developed a programme of training courses to support and equip managers for the increasing demands that, out of necessity, businesses are placing on their teams.

Developed and delivered by consultants, with direct experience of using the methods taught to deliver real results in industry, the training courses mirror our core consultancy specialisms.

All courses are supported by a series of exercises and syndicate sessions to assist delegates in their understanding and absorption of the information.

DATA ANALYSIS TRAINING

Are you getting the most from the data available in your business?

The quantity of data created within a business today, from Sales Order Processing, Warehouse Management, Transport Management and other operational systems, is a vital management resource but it can also be a huge and often daunting challenge to ensure it is utilised in the most effective way.

Do you or your team have the skills to make the most of the data that is available?

Analysing and interpreting data is a key skill and an important aspect of many employees’ professional development. Managers, analysts, supervisors and administrators in all areas of a business, including sales, procurement, distribution or warehousing, will benefit from this course designed to help develop the skills needed to make sense of available data.

Course outline

As a one day course it is structured into a series of modules, each introducing a specific set of tools and techniques. Delegates practice and apply them to a set of data in a series of supporting exercises, building at each stage on what they have learnt.

  • The course starts by looking at data sources within a business; where data can come from, how it might look and its potential uses.
  • We consider data quality and how to check and repair data; looking at common issues and mistakes and how these can impact on results.
  • This is followed by an introduction to spreadsheet techniques for data manipulation and how to analyse the data to produce meaningful and useful outputs.
  • We continue by looking at how to combine, cross reference, and link data sets from different sources containing different information.
  • Summarising data is key to understanding and communicating within business and we develop techniques to assist delegates in this area
  • Finally we consider ways of presenting the findings from our analysis in reports and presentations.
