After a change of government, inflationary pressures, and continued conflict in Ukraine & the Middle East, 2024 has not been the easiest of years for the business community. Looking ahead to 2025, here are a few resolutions that many in the logistics industry could be making to try and stimulate economic growth:
- Strategic Planning & Leadership – ensure there is a plan, and a contingency in these uncertain times.
- Sustainability – as “net zero” targets by 2030 come ever closer, businesses will need to adapt.
- Last Mile Logistics – this is increasingly becoming a business differentiator, as delivery speed expectations increase.
- Supply Chain Review – increased need for diversification and management of risk, particularly in light of geo-political and economic pressures.
- Stock Policies – in response to lead time uncertainty, should stock holding be increased, product ranges reduced, and products sourced locally?
- Automation & IT Infrastructure – is now the time to make that next investment, whether that‘s a new WMS, warehouse automation or AI.
- Customer Experience – use of data analytics to increasingly personalise the fulfilment offering.
