Taylor Wimpey is one of the largest house builders in the UK, operating from 24 regional offices across England, Scotland and Wales. The in-house logistics operation, Taylor Wimpey Logistics (“TWL”), operates from a national distribution centre in Newmarket and supplies products to all 24 regional house building businesses across the UK.
As part of standard procedure, they implement regular reviews. A six-month stock take highlighted warehouse processes were weak and inconsistent causing service levels to be lower than expected. We undertook a detailed process mapping and investigation as well as a review of the base functionality of the warehouse system.
