Highways England is an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport (DfT), responsible for operating, maintaining and improving England’s strategic roads, whilst administering the network as a public asset.
Initially, our supply chain consultants were asked to determine the optimum strategic solution with regards the storage and distribution of items to support the technology used in the on the road network.
When the contract on the National Distribution Centre was due to expire we were invited to assist with the tender exercise, from identifying expressions of interest to contractor submissions and contracts, to finally evaluating the proposed solution. Subsequently the facility was outsourced and relocated.
